Qatar Wins Swiss Beach Volleyball Championship

Geneva, June 24 (QNA) - Qatar beach volleyball team won first place in the Swiss national championship after beating Switzerland 2-0 in the final. Qatar's Ahmed Tijan and Sherif Younis defeated the Swiss duo 21/18 and 27/25 to win the trophy. The tournament was part of Qatar's team preparations for participation in the FIVB 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Hamburg, Germany, from June 28 to July 7 for men and women, with a prize of one million dollars. Qatar participates in the World Championship with two teams. Qatar A plays in Group D along with Belgium, Czech, and Sierra Leone. Qatar B participates in Group E along with Russia, Brazil, and the USA. (QNA)
