NATO SUPPORTS TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF AZERBAIJAN
Paris, April 5 (AzerTAc). NATO continues to support territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, according to the NATO Strasbourg / Kehl Summit Declaration.
“We remain concerned with the persistence of protracted regional conflicts in the South Caucasus and the Republic of Moldova. It is essential for all parties in these regions to engage constructively in peaceful conflict resolution. We call on them all to avoid steps that undermine regional security and stability, and to respect the current negotiation formats,” said the declaration.
The document noted NATO continues to support the territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty of South Caucasus countries including Azerbaijan as well as Moldova, and will also continue to support efforts towards a peaceful settlement of these regional conflicts.
NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government was held on 3–4 April 2009 in Baden-Baden and Kehl, Germany, and in Strasbourg, France to mark the 60th anniversary of NATO.
