KSU sets up Research Chair of DR. Vidyasagar (India) for Red

Riyadh, April 05, SPA -- King Saud University (KSU) has announced the
setting up of a Scientific Research Chair of Dr. P.S.P.V. Vidyasagar,
an Indian expert, to carry out studies and research works for Red
Palm Weevil (Rhynchophorus ferrugineus), according to Dr. Salih
Abdullah Al Dousari, the supervisor of Red Palm Weevil Research
Chair.

The Indian Professor and expert served for a short-term consultancy
with the Saudi Ministry of Agriculture and Water from 5th September
to 12th October, 1992.

He also headed the Red Palm Weevil Control Project in the Kingdom's
Eastern Province and served as the Leader of the Indian Technical
Team, the Ministry of Agriculture & Water, the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia (KSA) for 5 years from 1993 to 1998.

Dr Vidyasagar established an exclusive laboratory for conducting
research on Red Palm Weevil in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
