‘SOCAR-TURCAS TO INVEST $52m IN PETKIM IN 2009’

Ankara, April 6 (AzerTAc). SOCAR-TURCAS, the Azerbaijani-Turkish energy consortium, will invest $52 million in Turkish petrochemical company Petkim this year, said SOCAR`s President Rovnag Abdullayev.
“Despite the financial crisis we invested $47 million in Petkim in 2008 and plan to increase the amount this year,” Abdullayev said.
He also said: “SOCAR plans to implement several big projects in Turkey with the support of the brotherly country`s government”
According to him, after being privatized, Petkim created 250 new jobs, with additional 200 ones to be created throughout 2009.
