Iran, Yemen agree to promote scientific cooperation

Tehran, April 6, IRNA - Deputy minister of science, research and technology for international affairs announced on Sunday that Iranian and Yemeni officials have agreed to promote scientific cooperation in 2009.

Talking to IRNA on Sunday, Arsalan Qorbani added that following
signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by officials of the two
countries in March, direct cooperation among universities and higher
education centers will improve.

Commenting on the contents of the agreement, he said that exchange of
instructors and students, joint research projects and participating in
seminars to be held during 2009-2010 were among the items agreed upon.

The two sides are also committed to encourage cooperation between
research centers and exchange experts and researchers, he said.

Qorbani added that based on the agreement, the two sides will use each
other's capabilities in the form of dispatching specialized and expert
academic teams.

Yemen is an Arab country located on the Arabian Peninsula in Southwest
Asia. Its capital is Sana'a.
