Photo and arts exhibitions launch to mark anniversary of Mongolia-China diplomatic ties

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Mongolia and China marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations this year. Celebrating the jubilee, a series of humanitarian and cultural events under the theme “Feel China” is being organized in Ulaanbaatar from September 2 to 9 with a view to strengthen mutual understanding between the peoples of Mongolia and China and reinforce the traditional friendly ties.
On September 2, an opening ceremony of the “Feel China” events was held with the participation of Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Jiang Jianguo and Head of the Publicity Department of China’s Inner Mongolian Regional Party Committee Bai Yugang and other officials from Mongolia and China.
A five-part exhibition with more than 150 exhibits was also launched today at the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery. Photography exhibitions ‘70 year of the People’s Republic of China’, showing the economic and social growth of China in the last 70 years, ‘Our Friendship’, which displays the historic moments in the cooperation of Mongolia and China, ‘Tea Road’, which tells the history of traditional friendship of the Mongolian and Chinese people through the stories of the ancient Tea Road connecting Asia and Europe through China and Mongolia, an exhibition of Chinese embroidery art works and exhibition of painting of Mongolian horses are put on for public display until September 6.
In his opening speech delivered at the exhibition launch, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city B.Amarsaikhan congratulated the guests on the occasion of the anniversary of the diplomatic relations and drew attention on the development of bilateral relations in various fields of trade, economy and humanitarian. “As the city of Ulaanbaatar has been maintaining sister-city relationship with China’s Beijing and Hohhot cities since 1992, it has become a tradition to organize cultural days in each of the cities, reciprocally promoting the traditions and heritage to each other” he added.
A plan to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and China was signed by the heads of state of Mongolia and China during the Belt and Road Forum held in April 2019. The series of events, including exhibitions, arts and sports performances and tournaments, film screening and many others in Ulaanbaatar are jointly organized by the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, the Cultural Department - Implementing Agency of the Government of Mongolia, Embassy of China to Mongolia, Press department of the State Council of China and Press department of the People's Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.
Mongolia and the People's Republic of China established diplomatic relations on 16 October 1949.
