ANAMA DIRECTOR ATTENDS 12TH INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF MINE ACTION PROGRAM DIRECTORS AND UN ADVISORS IN GENEVA
Baku, April 7 (AzerTAc). Director of Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Nazim Ismayilov attended the 12th International Meeting of Mine Action Program Directors and UN advisors in Geneva.
The purpose of the event organized by the United Nations Mine Action Team (UNMAT) and the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) was to give the opportunity for members of mine action community to meet and assess the progress and challenges within the sector.
The meeting brought together officials from over 40 mine affected countries, as well as representatives from the United Nations, national and international NGOs, commercial companies and donors.
During the visit, Ismayilov met with director of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) Stephan Husy to discuss prospects for cooperation between ANAMA and GICHD.
