Qatar Team Adds 10 Medals at GCC Water Games Championship

Kuwait, September 08 (QNA) - The Qatari swimming team continued its brilliance at the 27th GCC Water Games Championship, which concludes in Kuwait Sunday. Qatar won ten medals including six gold medals, three silver and a bronze medal in the morning competition. The swimmer Abdullah Ahmed achieved the gold medal in the 100m freestyle for the 11-12 years category, and Omar Ashraf crowned the gold medal of the 200m breaststroke race for the 13-14 years category. Mohammed Mahmoud won the gold medal for the 200m individual medley for the 15-17 years category, and Ibrahim Hilal won the gold medal for the 50m backstroke for the 11-12 years category. Yousef Al Khulaifi won the gold medal and Yusuf Ashraf Silver won the silver medal for the 50m backstroke for the 13-14 years category. Omar Ashraf won the gold medal and Abdullah Al Khaldi won the silver medal for the 200m butterfly for the 13-14 years category. Tamim Mohammed won the silver medal for the 100m freestyle for the 13-14 years category, and Ahmed Tariq captured the bronze medal for the 1500m freestyle for the category 15-17 years.
