Embankment construction of Nam Ngum river completed by 40 %
(KPL) The construction of embankment in Thangon area, Saythany district, Nam Ngum River is now 40 per cent completed which is expected to be completed at the end of this year.
This area has been eroded badly by Nam Ngum river therefore the embankment construction project has been placed in this area where Dr Sinlavong Khoudphaythoun, Minister of Planning and Investment and his delegation on 5 April, visited to see the progress of construction.
The construction work commenced in February this year and to complete within the end of this year. The embankment is 249 metre stretch and 75 metre deep.
The embankment is able to prevent the erosion of Nam Ngum river flow after completing the construction.
