World Athletics Championship: Perez Wins Discus Gold

Doha, October 05 (QNA) - Cuban Yaime Perez won the discus gold medal with a leading throw of 69.17 meters in the IAAF World Athletics Championships, Doha 2019, at the Khalifa International Stadium. Perez produced a throw of 69.17 meters with her fifth attempt to overtake compatriot Denia Caballero. Caballero, the world champion in 2015, won the silver medal in 68.44 meters. Olympic and world champion Sandra Perkovic of Croatia came in third place with 66.72 meters. (QNA)
