AZERI MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND ENERGY MEETS LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER IN BAKU
Baku, April 9 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Minister for Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev met Wednesday with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Vygaudas Usackas.
The sides discussed the current state of relationship between Azerbaijan and Lithuania.
Natig Aliyev briefed the Lithuanian Minister on ongoing economic reforms in the country and regional projects in energy sphere.
According to Aliyev, Azerbaijan is closely cooperating with EU member states in energy security.
He noted that diversification of oil and gas routes can play important role in reliable and continuous energy supplies of EU member states, adding Azerbaijan makes a worthy contribution to this issue, as well.
Natig Aliyev also told of the oil and gas fields in Azerbaijan`s sector of the Caspian Sea, as well as oil agreements signed.
Vygaudas Usackas described Azerbaijan as “the most developing and powerful economic country in region.” According to him, his country intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres.
Usackas also pointed out that “Lithuania considers Azerbaijan as the closest strategic partner in political and economic spheres.”
He noted Lithuania intends to develop its energy security concept with active involvement of Azerbaijan.
The Minister underscored the importance of increasing efforts towards diversification of oil and gas routes.
Parties also discussed other issues of mutual concern.
