AFC honour for Bahraini veteran referee

Manama, Jan. 18(BNA): Bahrain Football Association (BFA) referees’ affairs department chief Jassim Mahmoud has been named to evaluate the referees who will officiate the match opposing Iraq’s Police team and UAE Al-Wehda. The match which will be played on the 17th of February 2020 in Iraq is part of the group phase of the AFC Champions League. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) had appointed Japanese referee iida jumpei to officiate the match. He will be assisted by his compatriots linesmen Karakami and Takagi, while Yamamoto will be the fourth referee. The AFC had accredited Jassim Mahmoud as evaluator of referee in 2010. He joined other Bahrainis who were appointed to supervise football matches and assess referees’ performance.
