HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad attends rugby match

Manama, Feb. 8 (BNA): Bahrain Rugby Club (Bahrain RFC) took on Dubai Exiles RFC as part the West Asian Championship – Bahrain phase. His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Affairs (SCYS) Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa attended the match. Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Ayman bin Tawfiq Almoayyed was also present, along with the US, British, French, Italian and Japanese ambassador, in addition to Bahrain RFC Chairman Mike Cunningham. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and other attendees observed a minute of silence on the death of Bahrain RFC player Tuwan Dezmi Bongso. Bahrain RFC Chairman Mike Cunningham presented HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa with a commemorative gift as a token of gratitude for attending the match. HH Shaikh Nasser toured the Bahrain RFC and was briefed by its chairman on different modern sporting facilities as well as programmes, activities and events. In a statement on this occasion, he stressed the importance of hosting various sporting events, which contribute to enhancing Bahrain's standing on the map of regional and global sport. “Bahrain attaches great importance to hosting sporting events which represent an ideal way to promote the Kingdom and enhance the concept of sports diplomacy reflecting national strides in various fields”, he said.
