Fundamental knowledge on stock market upgraded for Lao media
(KPL) The National Committee for stock market building and the central bank of Laos organized on 9 April a seminar under theme “General knowledge on stock market” for Lao media.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Phouphet Khamphouvong, Governor of the Central Bank said that a stock market, or equity market, is a private or public market for the trading of company stock and derivatives at an agreed price; these are securities listed on a stock exchange as well as those only traded privately. He also highlighted a number of roles and duties of the stock market in Laos.
During the seminar, the participants was briefed the regulations on stock market activities in order to be the fundamental knowledge for dissemination to the public.
