Azerbaijan`s defense minister visits foremost military units

Baku, May 5, AZERTAC Under the instruction of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Military Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Colonel General Maharram Aliyev, Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and the leadership of the ministry have visited the foremost military units. After hearing reports on the operational situation on the line of contact of the troops, Colonel General Maharram Aliyev and Colonel General Zakir Hasanov observed the enemy’s forward positions. The minister of defense gave relevant instructions to maintain the constant combat readiness of the units. Minister Hasanov, visiting the front line met with servicemen serving in combat positions in the direction of the village of Talish and inquired about their service conditions. During the meeting with the military personnel, Colonel General Maharram Aliyev, speaking about the continuation of activity to fulfill the instructions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to increase the combat effectiveness of the Azerbaijan Army and improve the social conditions of servicemen, emphasized that these issues are in the focus of constant attention of the country's leadership. Then Colonel General Aliyev and Colonel General Hasanov, visiting tank units, met with crews of tanks, checked their combat readiness, and inquired about their service. A lunch with the participation of servicemen was organized.
