Qatar Club Coaches Looking for Points in QNB Stars League-Week 18
Doha, July 23 (QNA) - Qatar club coaches are looking for an ideal performance and gaining points with the return of the QNB Stars League -week 18 on Friday, and which will witness important matches between clubs looking to improve their positions in the ranking table.
Al Rayyan SC will face Qatar SC in QNB Stars League -week 18. Al Rayyan coach Diego Aguirre spoke ahead of their match against Qatar SC and said: "Our focus is on the game against Qatar SC. We have other confrontations, but if we lose against Qatar SC, we will lose the opportunity to compete for the title, so everyone is ready to provide a big match and I trust all my players. We must be focused and give off our best. We have trained well during the break. This moment is not for talking about the past. We must concentrate on the upcoming matches and the first is against Qatar SC."
Aguirre added: "On winning the title Why not But the current time is not good to talk about this matter. We must know that Al Duhail are strong competitors and we are required to win all points in the five games and after that I can answer about the chances of Al Rayyan."
For his part, Qatar SC coach Wesam Rizik said: "For sure, we are all happy to come back to the league competition after a long break. We are returning progressively to the training and the leagues resumption is giving life to the sport generally. Our next game is against a big team. Al Rayyan are competing for the title and they are second in the table. From our side, we are ready for this tough match. We played two friendly games and were satisfied with the performance. We hope we will be good on the field.
"Logically, we cannot say that we will win this game. As I said, we are facing Al Rayyan, who are vying for the league shield, so the game will be difficult. We hope we will succeed in containing their key players and get a positive result. We hope to be at the highest level of readiness on the match day. About the remaining games in the league, we will take them week after week. We are realistic, so we know we are not in a safe position so far. That means we must work harder to be satisfied about ourselves" He said
"The competition to avoid relegation is strong now, with many teams involved in it. So collecting points is very important and all teams will get stronger on the field. I wish good luck to all, especially our team, to finish the league positively," said Wesam Rizik.
As for the match between Al Gharafa and Al Arabi SC, Al Gharafa coach Slavisa Jokanovic said: "We had almost four-and-a-half months without playing an official match. After that, we started some individual exercises and fortunately we practised closer to the normal way during the past three weeks. It is not easy to give a clear answer regarding the current level of readiness because we have not played for a long time, but we played some friendly matches to check the level we have reached. All matches will be crucial. After facing Al Arabi, we will have four other games. Al Arabi match has great importance and can be seen as a six-point game, because the opponents are behind us in the fifth position with 24 points in the table. I hope we will be at our best and give our maximum efforts to win."
"We will miss professionals Sofiane Hanni and Adlene Guedioura for various reasons. On the other side, we do not have many problems with injuries except Monkez Ali." added Jokanovic.
For his part, Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson said: "It is really good to be back. It was a difficult period for everyone, we are happy with the return of football action. First of all, we would like to thank all those who made it happen. Normally, we would be preparing for a new season at this time, but now we are preparing to complete this season, which is a challenge and a difficult time as well."
"I think we have many players who have benefited from this break. We have achieved a good level before the break and have performed well in many matches" added Hallgrimsson. (QNA)
