ALKEDRI a New Purebred Arabian Winner for Al Shaqab Racing

Paris, July 24 (QNA) - The three-year-old Purebred Arabian filly ALKEDRI (FR) (Mister Ginoux x Bise Al Maury) opened her scorecard on third time of asking at Mont-de-Marsan, France, on Friday, 24 July. Trained by Charles Gourdain, the grey filly had finished third on her debut in May and a runner-up at La Teste in late June. Ridden by Jean-Bernard Equeym, she sat in fourth position towards the outside. She was shuffled back into fifth or sixth in the back straight. Coming into the middle of the track once in the home straight, she found plenty of running to battle with HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al-Thani's homebred ANTAR (FR) (Al Mamun Monlau) all the way to the line, winning by a nose. ANTAR was the runner-up under Alexandre Gavilan for trainer Didier Guillemin. TEEMA (FR) (Bibi De Carrere x Dahwa) was further three quarters of a length behind in third under Ioritz Mendizabal for trainer X. Thomas-Demeaulte. (QNA)
