Tigo amends master agreement

(KPL) The Millicom International Cellular SA and its shareholder-Lao Government on 22 April, at the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vientiane, agreed to sign an amendment of master agreement and joint venture agreement to expend its service.
The agreements were signed by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Mr. Thongmy Phomvixay as representative of government of Laos and Chairman of Millicom Lao Company, Mrs. Judy Tan.
Deputy Major of Vientiane Mr. Somvandy Nathavong, Chief Officer of Ministry of Finance, Mr. Khounyon Khammany and General Manager of Millicom Lao Company, Mr. Michael Cluzel, were also signed the document as the witnesses.
The agreements stipulated that the Millicom Lao Company or Tigo is to improve its financial and technical systems, which its financial is under the authority of Lao Ministry of Finance and technical system is transferred to the National Administration Post and Telecom responsibility. So far the Milllicom Lao Company has been under the authority of Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
This agreement is a good sound of the Millicom Lao Company in expansion and development of telecom system in Laos in the future.
The Lao Government holds 22 per cent of share in the Tigo Company.
