Meeting of Board of Trustees of Qatar Football Association Award

Doha, August 23 (QNA) - The Board of Trustees of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) Award held a remote meeting to discuss preparations for the Best Awards for the 2019-20 season and also to approve the final names in each category of awards ahead of the voting. The Board of Trustees decided to cancel the QFA Award ceremony this season in the present scenario and as part of the countrys efforts to combat coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, according to the qsl.com Nominees and winners will be announced through the official website and social media of QFA and Qatar Stars League. The Board of Trustees also approved the nominees in each category are as follows: A. Best Under-23 Player: Homam Elamin (Al Gharafa), Tarek Salman (Al Sadd), Khaled Muneer (Al Wakrah), B. Best Coach, Xavi Hernandez Al Sadd, Diego Aguirre Al Rayyan, Slavisa Jokanovic Al Gharafa C. Best Player, Akram Afif Al Sadd, Yacine Brahimi Al Rayyan, Paulo Edmilson Junior Al Duhail, The voting process will be done as usual by sending the forms to persons authorised to vote, and after that the forms are sorted, results approved and winners announced. Regarding the award for the Best Referees and Football for All award, the winners will be announced after the final results of voting. The top-scorer award will be shared by Al Sadds Akram Afif and Al Rayyans Yacine Brahimi (both 15 goals). Participants in the voting process are: QNB Stars League team coaches, Qatar national team coach, Qatar Olympic team coach Team managers: Media representatives, Representative of QFA, Representative of QSL, President and Board members of the QFA Awards Committee Board.
