Qatari Clubs' Coaches Seek to Win in QNB Stars League Week 3
Doha, September 12 (QNA) - The coaches of Qatari clubs spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-2021 season QNB Stars League Week 3 that will kick off tomorrow.
Al Kharaitiyat coach Yousef Adam spoke ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Al Sailiya. "We have great confidence in all players. I worked with the available players in the last two rounds despite the fact that the team was incomplete without two foreign professional players. This confidence, along with the continuous work, led to our win against Qatar SC in the last round.
"We continued our efforts in preparation for the Al Sailiya game which we consider as difficult as they have in their ranks many distinguished players, overseas and national. But we will work to double our efforts to present a strong show and achieve a positive result despite the difficulty of the match.
"The team is full-fledged and we do not have any absences except Elmehdi, who suffers from an injury, and we hope for his return in the fourth round of the league.
"In the last match, the team made a great effort and achieved victory. We will stay more focused in the next match despite the fact that we are facing a difficult team," said Yousef.
Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi spoke ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Al Kharaitiyat, saying: "There is no doubt that the preparation for this match is completely different from previous matches, especially since it comes after our heavy loss against Al Sadd.
"The players knew full well that they could match Al Sadd in terms of goals, especially after they scored the third goal. But that did not happen and the loss was heavy. This is why our match with Al Kharaitiyat is important and there is no substitute for victory, so that we can make compensation.
"It is important to win against Al Kharaitiyat, so that the problem that occurred last season, when we lost more than 20 points against teams of the same level or less, is not repeated. So we only think about winning over Al Kharaitiyat.
"We must be fully prepared, focused and disciplined in order to win the match and collect three points," said Trabelsi.
Speaking ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Al Rayyan, Qatar SC coach Younis Ali said, "Our match against Al Rayyan is very difficult because it is against a team that competed for the title till the last round last season. They will try to make up for it in the current season and we look at this match in a different way.
"We are not on the winning path for a long time. I waited for a great reaction from the players, especially since we are in a new season and the players should look forward to a different look for the current season.
"I was aware of the difficulty that I would face before taking up the Qatar SC job and we agreed on many things, including a major change during the forthcoming break."
Al Rayyan coach Diego Aguirre spoke ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Qatar SC. Aguirre said, "There is no doubt that the league does not have an easy match. Whatever the difference in points and other matters between the teams, the competition on the pitch will be equal. And there is no doubt that Qatar SC will not be a pushover side, especially since they are coming from two back-to-back losses. So their main goal will be to compensate for it.
"We must be fully focused on the game and our players should not spare any effort, so we can obtain the three points and continue on the winning path, having picked up our first victory last week, against Al Gharafa.
"The team's morale is high after the victory over Al Gharafa. We will try to go into the break with an important victory and seek to benefit from it in the best possible way," said Aguirre.
Umm Salal coach Aziz Ben Askar spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Al Wakrah.
"We cannot build a team within 10 days, which was the pause between the current season and last season, and we need more time. I think we will have a chance to start real work during the break after the Al Wakrah match.
"Al Wakrah are a very good team and they won against Al Duhail last week. We expect the match to be difficult. We are used to playing against them and we will focus on ourselves. We have prepared well in order to be at our best in this match.
"We did not score any goal so far, but we appeared strongly. So I see the situation is very good and it will be better in the future," said Ben Askar.
Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Umm Salal.
"There was nothing new in the preparations for this match as it is more like the scenario of our previous meeting with Al Duhail, mainly in terms of time constraints. The three days leading up to the match included two days of recovery and one day to prepare for the match.
"We realise that the confrontation is like the rest of the league matches and we strive to achieve victory and reap the three points to continue positive results.
"All players made great efforts in the last match against Al Duhail, so the recovery period was an inevitable necessity. Everyone has to catch a breath and regain fitness. But this is not only the case of Al Wakrah, but about all teams.
"There are no injuries. Some of our players have recovered from minor bruises they suffered in the last round," said Marquez. (QNA)
