BIRD FLU KILLS 40 CHICKENS IN MADURA
Pamekasan, E Java, April 27 (ANTARA) - At least 40 chickens died a sudden death on Monday for bird flu infections in Proppo subditrict, Pamekasan, Madura district East Java, an animal husbandry official said.
"We have conducted a check on the dead chickens and it is true that they were infected with bird flu virus," Hadarwati, head of the animal health affairs of the Animal Husbandry Service Office of Pamekasan said here on Monday.
At least 40 chickens belonging to Sayfei died on Monday. Syafei and other residents suspected the death of the chickens was due to bird flue so that they reported to the local animal husbandry office.
"I feared that my chickens were infected with the bird flu virus," Syafei said.
The Pamekasan Animal Husbandry office immediately take the dead chicken samples and checked them, and found that it was positive to have been infected with the virus.***1***
