MILLI MAJLIS TO REVISE 2009 STATE BUDGET
Baku, April 28 (AzerTAc). Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan will revise the law on “state budget of Azerbaijan Republic for 2009”. Parliamentarians will discuss a number of social and investment projects envisages in the budget. Social expenditures are expected to rise.
Chairman of the Milli Majlis standing commission for economic policy Ziyad Samedzade said social and investment-related budget expenditure will be seriously changed.
According to commission chairman, there is the need to step up implementation of social programs and develop entrepreneurship. To minimize the impact of the global economic crisis on Azerbaijan, the government should highlight development of the agrarian sector and ensure access of agricultural produce to local and foreign markets. Ziyad Samadzadeh noted the oil price in the budget will not be changed. If oil price will fall below the budgeted level of $70, the gap in the budget will be filled with transfers from the State Oil Fund.
