Yemen, NDI discuss parliament cooperation ties

SANA'A, May 03 (Saba) - Yemeni Parliament and the National
Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) discussed on
Sunday aspects of reinforcing cooperation between the Parliament and
NDI, particularly the technical skills for Parliament's cadres.

The Parliament General Secretary Abdullah Sofan held talks with NDI
Resident Director on the exerted efforts to update work mechanisms
for facilitating the tasks of Parliament members to develop
performance of Parliament in both sides of monitoring and
legislations.

During the meeting, Sofan affirmed the importance of enhancing the
real partnership between Yemen and donors to develop the democracy
process in Yemen.

For her part, NDI official praised democracy experience process in
Yemen, pointing out the Parliament represented the most prominent
features of the regulatory practice of democracy and parliamentary
experience.
