60% INCREASE IN FOREIGN PARTICIPATION AT MUSLIM TOURISM CONFERENCE
KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- The Third International Conference on
Muslim Tourism, Umrah and Haj (InComTHU 09) is getting a significant 60
per cent increase in international participation.
InComTHU organising chairman Jeffri Sulaiman told a press conference Tuesday
that more representatives from Yemen, Iran, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia,
Nigeria, Australia and Saudi Arabia would be attending the conference on May 14.
"Last year, only Indonesia and Singapore sent their representatives. This
year sees a very significant increase compared to last year. About 150 people
have confirmed their attendance and there is still room for more.
"As an added bonus, Yemen's Deputy Minister of Tourism has agreed to
attend the conference as a participant and we have invited Prime Minister Najib
Razak to officiate and give the keynote address," said Jeffri.
The conference, which will be held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC),
will explain further on managing Muslim tourists or Muslim tourism throughout
the year and not just focusing on the Haj and Umrah.
More information on the conference can be found at www.incomthu.com.
