M'SIAN STATE POLICE TO USE WALTHER P99 PISTOL
BACHOK (Malaysia), May 8 (Bernama) -- Kelantan police will use the
German-made Walther P99 pistol as the service pistol to replace .38 Special mm
currently in use.
State police chief Abdul Rahim Hanafi said all 3,000 police personnel
in the state would be equipped with the pistol.
"We have test fired the Walther P99 and found it to be more accurate,
lighter and more effective as a service pistol," he told reporters after
attending a shooting drill here Thursday.
Bachok is a territory and town in Kelantan, east coast state in Peninsular
Malaysia.
He said Kelantan police had so far received 800 Walther PS99 pistols which
would be handed to policemen who had undergone a shooting course on the use of
the weapon.
