Al-Watan Affirms Qatar's Solidarity with India in Confronting New Coronavirus Wave

Doha, April 28 (QNA) - In its editorial issued on Wednesday, Al-Watan newspaper affirmed the State of Qatar's solidarity with India's efforts to address the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In this regard, the paper highlighted the telephone conversation held on Tuesday between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi, where they discussed the latest development of the two countries in combating COVID-19, as well as ways to enhance joint cooperation to prevent it and limit its spread.
The paper highlighted that in that regard, His Highness expressed the State of Qatar's solidarity with the Indian people in the efforts India is exerting against a new wave of the virus, expressing condolences on the victims, and wishing the injured a swift recovery.
The paper pointed out that Prime Minister of India expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for the State of Qatar's position that reflects the strength of bilateral ties and the spirit of joint cooperation.
Led by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the State of Qatar has always been one of the most prominent contributors to the movement of growth and development regionally and internationally, the paper affirmed, adding that Qatar is one of the biggest partners committed to supporting the basic resources of the United Nations and its lofty goals through Qatar's pioneering role in responding to humanitarian appeals within the framework of international cooperation.
The paper also noted that the State of Qatar has confronted the pandemic with the efficiency of high-quality health system and medical care, as this system succeeded in reducing cases of infections and deaths, making Qatar the country with the least death rates worldwide with a system of procedures in which the efforts of government bodies were integrated with the efforts of the private sector and civil society organizations.
Al-Watan concluded its editorial by saying that within the framework of international cooperation to confront the COVID-19 pandemic since the beginning of the pandemic, the State of Qatar has -in no time- sent medical aid through its civil and military aircraft to more than 70 and international organizations, confirming its belief in the necessity to harness all efforts to confront the pandemic and any other humanitarian crises that threaten security, peace and stability.
