Bishkek, June 9, 2021. / Kabar /. Minister of Investments of Kyrgyzstan Almambet Shykmamatov met n Ankara on June 8 with President of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rifat Hisarcıklıoglu at the office of the TOBB Economics and Technology University. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the upcoming Kyrgyz-Turkish business forum, as well as the prospects for further cooperation on improving the performance indicators of business support institutions in Kyrgyzstan through reforms. During the conversation, Rifat Hisarcıklyoglu noted that the parties did a good job for the fruitful holding of the Kyrgyz-Turkish business forum and stressed that at the moment, Turkish business is showing great interest in participating in this event. In addition, he assured that at the request of the Kyrgyz side, the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey is ready to provide expert support for revising the functioning model of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic using the example of its association. In turn, Shykmamatov expressed confidence that the Kyrgyz-Turkish business forum will be held at the highest level and representatives of 60 companies arriving from Kyrgyzstan to Turkey will achieve their goals within the framework of meetings with Turkish businessmen. He also thanked the Turkish side for the opportunity of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges in providing assistance and expertise to the Kyrgyz side. The minister noted that in Kyrgyzstan, appropriate work will be carried out promptly to bring the regulatory legal acts into compliance for the successful functioning of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic. As a result of the negotiations, the sides decided that a large-scale business forum will be held in August 2021, in Issyk-Kul, within the framework of the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states, with the participation of representatives of the Kyrgyz-Turkish business community, as well as entrepreneurs of the Turkic states. One of the main directions will be signing contracts on the basis of business meetings held in Ankara, discussing issues and making decisions on creating conditions for Kyrgyz-Turkish business for further development, as well as attracting investments to Kyrgyzstan. The Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey applies the continental model of organizing business communities, where membership in an association of entrepreneurs is compulsory for all persons engaged in their own business. As a result of the implementation of such a model, Turkey has achieved impressive growth rates in its economic development. The strength of the functioning of the chamber in this format is the ability to defend the interests and rights of business in front of state institutions.
