Surveillance task force to detect new strain of influenza
(KPL) Lao Government would be establishing a surveillance task force in Vientiane to detect any new strain of influenza (H1N1) in its border areas.
The task force would be working at international and local border checkpoints, said the mayor of Vientiane on 11 May.The meeting was chaired by Dr Anouphap Tounaloum, Deputy Mayor of Vientiane, who is also head of surveillance task force.
The task force would be tasked to give daily, weekly and monthly reports on its search for the presence of any new strain of swine flu and to submit them to Vientiane Administration and the government.
