Laos scrutinizes Chinese high-tech land management system

(KPL) National Land Management Authority of the Prime Minister’s Office is cooperating with Super Map of China to exchange lessons on land information systems that uses computer software to gain access to information.
Standing Minister of Prime Minister’s Office and Head of National Land Management Authority, Mr. Khamouane Boutpha and director of Super Map, Professor Zhong Ershun were at the seminar for such exchanges and it was held in Vientiane Capital from 12 to 13 May.
The aims of the seminar were to discuses and exchange lessons on data collection, to use computer programmes for land management functions, to facilitate technical cooperation between two parties and how Super Map can enhance land management in Laos as it is experienced in using computer software for such a purpose.
“In the years to come we would be using the new system, known as E-Land but in the meantime we are experimenting on its usage for the districts of Vientiane Capital,” said Mr Khamouane.
