The Peninsula Commends Qatar's Efforts, its Support to Countries of World to Confront Covid-19 Pandemic

Doha, August 15 (QNA) - The Peninsula newspaper said Sunday that since the COVID-19 pandemic started spreading last year, Qatar has provided medical aid to several nations as a part of an initiative to help the world counter the outbreak. The State of Qatar strongly believes that the pandemic represents global health threat, and from the very beginning, Covid-19 started creating many difficulties at all levels across the globe; a matter that requires a global collective response and international solidarity and shared responsibility, that is why Qatar took the initiative to send various types of medical and non-medical aid to brotherly and friendly countries, the newspaper noted. Qatar Fund for Development, along with its government and non-government partners, has successfully shipped aid to around 100 countries, including medical equipment and food supplies, it said. In this regard The Peninsula referred to the third shipment of medical aid provided from the State of Qatar to the Republic of Paraguay which arrived on Saturday at Asuncion International Airport comes within the framework of the required global response and efforts to combat the spread of this epidemic and overcome the common threat being faced by the whole world. The sincere will and wise policy of the leadership in the two countries, the State of Qatar and the Republic of Paraguay, guided by human values has enhanced the relations between the two states since the establishment of relations and opening of the Qatari embassy in Asuncion in December 2012, the paper added. It is this insightful vision, human values and firm political convictions that do not differentiate between countries or people made the State of Qatar at the forefront of countries taking humanitarian initiatives and provide support for development programs as one of the means of promoting peace and stability in many countries of the world, the newspaper underlined. The sincere desire to strengthen relations of the two peoples on the ground of humanitarian values and political principles manifested through the enhancement of the ties and the shipments of the medical aid reflects the strong relations between the two countries, The Peninsula concluded.
