Katara Announces Winners of Mobile App Ideas Competition in Love of Prophet Mohammed

Doha, August 17 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) announced the three first winners of the Mobile App Ideas Competition in Love of Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, which it launched during the period from April 20 to May 29, 2021, within the activities of Doha Capital of Culture in the Islamic World.
The first-place winner was Mohammed Aref Al Dabbas from Iraq who was awarded a prize of $3,000. In second place was Nardine Shafe'e Abadi from Jordan who received $2,000, while Anas Al Homsi from Syria came in third with a prize of $1,000.
This competition aims to encourage the talented and innovative young people to keep pace with knowledge economies, and to prepare a generation capable of entering into projects to serve religion and society.
The competition, which was made available to everyone inside or outside Qatar, attracted about 110 participants, as Egypt and Sudan ranked first with 50 participants, and the Levant and Iraq ranked second with 27 participations, while the participation of the GCC states reached 19. They were also nine participants from the Arab Maghreb countries, and five from non-Arab countries.
The competition's organizing committee defined the conditions for participating by submitting a report explaining the idea of the application, of no less than two pages, and no more than four pages, provided that the idea is new, and not previously presented in the application stores. If two ideas submitted are similar, the winning idea will be the first, and the name of the idea owner will be placed on the application information page.
The competition also allows the participant to compete with more than one idea in the same field, provided that Katara Publishing House has the right to implement the winning participations. (QNA)
