TWO QUARANTINED AFTER SHOWING FLU SYMPTOMS

KANGAR (Malaysia), May 16 (Bernama) -- A 43-year-old businessman who makes
regular trips to Thailand and a four-year-old child from Mata Ayer in this
capital of northern Perlis state have been quarantined at the Tuanku Fauziah
Hospital after showing symptoms of Influenza A (H1N1).

Perlis Tourism and Health Committee chairman Ahmad Bakri Ali said both the
man and the child had been quarantined since Friday and early Saturday,
respectively.

"Their blood samples have been sent to the Institute for Medical Research in
Kuala Lumpur and I was made to understand that the results will be known in two
days," he said after opening the Malaysian Eco-Paintball Challenge at Gua Kelam
here Saturday.

Ahmad Bakri advised the people of Perlis not to panic as the quarantine
order was merely a precautionary procedure in the event of a disease outbreak.
