PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV VISITS CONSTRUCTION SITE OF ROAD JUNCTION AT AIRPORT INTERCHANGE, AIPORT-BILGAH SETTLEMENT HIGHWAY AND PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS
Baku, May 19 (AzerTAc). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inspected construction of the road junction at the airport interchange, highway linking Heydar Aliyev International Airport and Bilgah settlement, and pedestrian crossings.
General contractor of the road being built at the request of the Transport Ministry`s Azeryolservice OJSC is AZVIRT LLC.
The President was informed about the technical parameters of the road. The length of the road is 19 kilometers. Overall area of the asphaltic concrete road is 822,000 sq. meters and thickness of the surface is 270 millimeters. It is scheduled to build a junction for traffic regulation at the airport interchange and five pedestrian crossings. A 127-meter bridge over the airport interchange has eight lanes.
Construction will end within 20 months.
After viewing construction work, President Ilham Aliyev gave instruction and recommendations to complete high-quality construction in a timely manner.
Then, the Head of State arrived at the site where Bina and Sadarak trade centers used to be. President Ilham Aliyev inspected improvements here and gave respective instructions concerning high-level reconstruction here.
