MALAYSIA AIRLINES STEWARDESS DECLARED FREE OF FLU
IPOH (Malaysia), May 20 (Bernama) -- A stewardess who served on board last
Wednesday's Malaysia Airlines flight from Newark, the United States, to Kuala
Lumpur which carried two passengers confirmed to have contracted Influenza A
(H1N1) has been released from home quarantine Wednesday.
The stewardess, who was subjected to quarantine at her home in Ayer Tawar,
60km from here, did not show any symptoms of the flu, said a spokesman of the
Perak Health Department operations room here.
She was one of the crew on the flight, MH091, which carried two Malaysian
students who had contracted the flu in the United States. One of the students
was treated in the Sungai Buloh Hospital and the other at the Penang Hospital.
The spokesman said that despite Perak being free of any Influenza A (H1N1)
cases, monitoring of incoming tourists would continue at the Customs and
Immigration Complex in Pengkalan Hulu.
He also said that four people quarantined at the Tuanku Bainun Hospital here
for suspected Inflenza A (H1N1) were discharged Tuesday.
