Rainbow-shaped Rock, Natural Monument in Korea

Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- Tourists can feast their eyes on a rainbow-shaped rock, one of the natural wonders in Sea Chilbo of Mt Chilbo which belongs to the six noted mountains of Korea. The rock, with height of about 8 meters, has an abrasion cave that is 4.5 meters high and about 10 meters long. The cave's upper part is 3-4 meters wide. It borders sea to the east and a low hill to the west. There is a low sea cliff in its north side, and round basaltic rocks lie below the cliff. Pines and maples grow on the west low hill to add beauty to the rainbow-shaped rock. The rock with an abrasion cave is of significance in coastal topographical study. -0-
