Newspapers Emphasize Algerian President's Exceptional Visit to Qatar

Doha, February 21 (QNA) - In their editorials on Monday, Qatari dailies affirmed the exceptional dimension of HE President of the sisterly People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune's visit to the State of Qatar. In this regard, the newspapers hailed the official talks session held by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with HE the Algerian President, which came to confirm the depth and strength of the Qatari-Algerian relations. The newspapers said that the Algerian President's visit to the country acquires an exceptional dimension in terms of its timing, as it comes before the Arab summit that will be hosted by Algeria, and coincides with the 6th summit of the heads of Member States of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) that will be held in Doha Tuesday, pointing out that the two countries are the world's largest producers and exporters of natural gas, as they are two pivotal countries within the framework of the League of Arab States and in the regional environment, united by one visions, common positions and firm principles towards bilateral and national interests, Arab and international issues, and security and peace in the world. Al-Raya commended the great keenness of the two wise leaderships on these relations, and to upgrade and strengthen them in all sectors, in order to transform them into strategic partnership, noting that during the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields, in addition to issues of joint interest. The official talks session between the two sides culminated in the signing of an agreement, two memoranda of understanding and an executive program between the two countries, as HH the Amir and HE the Algerian President witnessed the signing of an agreement on legal and judicial cooperation in criminal matters between the two governments, a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of political consultations and coordination between the two countries' foreign ministries, as well as a memorandum of understanding in the areas of social development and the family between the two governments, the paper said. HH the Amir and HE the Algerian President also witnessed the signing of the second executive program in the field of higher education, scientific and technological research of the educational and scientific cooperation agreement between the two countries' governments for the academic years (2022-2025), the paper added. The paper stressed that the Qatari-Algerian relations have always been strong and solid, and are considered a good model for the relations between the brotherly Arab countries, as they are based on historical foundations and decades of cooperation and synergy between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries. The official talks session hosted by Doha yesterday confirms the importance of relations with Algeria, as well as the two countries' desire to push them to broader horizons and turn them into strategic cooperation relations that reflect the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, as Qatar and Algeria are working together to serve Arab and Islamic interests, and achieve security and stability at the global level by supporting the stability of the energy market, Al-Raya concluded. For its part, Al-Watan newspaper emphasized in its Monday editorial the depth and strength of Qatari-Algerian relations, referring to the visit of HE President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the State of Qatar which will contribute to developing and strengthening relations between Doha and Algiers in various fields, in addition to providing more support and backing to Arab and international issues through their shared common visions. The Qatari daily said that this movement began with HE President of the sisterly People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune's visit to the country since Saturday, followed by the visit of HE President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi who will arrive in the country later today. Leaders and senior officials will also arrive in Qatar to participate in the 6th Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) which will begin Tuesday in Doha, the paper noted. The newspaper underlined that this great political and diplomatic movement reflects the status of the State of Qatar and its role in promoting international cooperation. The newspaper affirmed that the results of the official talks session held by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE the Algerian President and subsequent signing of agreements, memoranda of understanding and executive programs, will have a significant impact on raising the level of cooperation and partnership between the two countries to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, enhance and activate joint Arab action in facing the challenges in the region and the Arab nation.
