Qatar's MOCI Announces Start of Registration for National Initiative to Encourage Local Production, Support Sheep Meat Prices in Ramadan

Doha, February 28 (QNA) - The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality announced the start of registration for the national initiative to encourage local production and support the prices of sheep meat for the blessed month of Ramadan 1443 AH from Monday until March 10. This step comes within the framework of the MOCI's keenness to encourage and support livestock breeders who own farms to increase local production of sheep, and protect the commercial and economic environment in the country, in anticipation of changing the conditions of meeting supply with demand and creating a balance between them, which contributes to stabilize prices in the markets and ensure the right of citizens to obtain red meat during the blessed month at reasonable prices. The MOCI said that breeders and owners of farms, who have male sheep of the breed (Awassi - Najdi - Arabi - Harri), can apply for registration at the Department of Animal Wealth of the Ministry of Municipality - Al Mansour Tower - floor 11, and attendance is in person or through a documented power of attorney. The ministry also referred to the conditions required to register in the initiative, which is that the applicant must have a valid license and an animal breeder certificate. (QNA)
