Al-Watan Affirms Strong Relations Between Qatar and Namibia

Doha, March 01 (QNA) - In its Tuesday editorial, Al-Watan newspaper affirmed the strength of relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Namibia, which are based on mutual respect and common interests and are witnessing development in all political and economic fields. In this regard, the Qatari daily underlined the official talks session held by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with HE President of the Republic of Namibia Hage Geingob at the Amiri Diwan on Monday morning. The newspaper said that HE President of the Republic of Namibia Hage Geingob's visit to the State of Qatar and his talks with HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani will constitute a strong tributary to these relations and contribute to pushing them forward. The paper highlighted the two countries' common desire to develop the relations in various fields in order to achieve the aspirations of the two peoples, pointing out that the two countries share a set of common positions, which are based on adopting a policy of constructive dialogue and commitment to the Charter of the United Nations and the well-established principles of international law. Al-Watan stated that the relations between the State of Qatar and African countries were greatly enhanced in 2019, as these relations continued to expand in various fields, noting that the strength of relations has been translated through HH the Amir's visits to a number of countries of the African Continent on the one hand, and the visits of African heads of state to Doha on the other hand. All those mutual visits resulted in the signing of a large number of agreements and memorandums of understanding in various sectors of cooperation, the paper added. In conclusion, Al-Watan stressed that HH the Amir's visits to the African countries have established solid foundations for relations, pointing out that Doha is keen to strengthen its cooperation with Africa in various fields and that HE President Hage Geingob's visit will contribute to giving more impetus to these relations.
