Oleg Artemyev to become new TASS special correspondent aboard ISS
MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. The TASS press office at the International Space Station will continue its operation; cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev will become the second agency’s special reporter at the orbit, TASS department of corporate communications announced Thursday.
"Our cooperation with TASS has become not ceremonial, but everyday in the best sense of this word, because TASS is very restrained and informative, especially in the situation that we are living in. I must say that it is extremely important that the cosmonautics contributed to this work. I hope that Oleg Artemyev as the new TASS special correspondent at the orbit will be able to work efficiently, and provide news that will have exceptional, unique and unprecedented nature," Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said during a meeting with TASS CEO Sergey Mikhaylov.
Mikhaylov handed over a special correspondent card to Rogozin to be presented to Artemyev, who is currently preparing for his third space mission at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The Soyuz MS-21 ‘Korolyov’ launch is scheduled for March 18.
"Oleg Artemyev is the second cosmonaut to become a TASS special correspondent at the ISS. I am very pleased with the experience of this cooperation. We anticipate news, photos, videos from the orbit and discoveries in every sense," Mikhaylov noted.
TASS has become the first global media to start working aboard the ISS, after it opened its office at the orbit on December 8, 2021. Alexander Misurkin has become the agency’s first special correspondent in space.
