Interior Minister to his Pakistani Counterpart: The Iraqi Govt Is Determined To Provide A Safe And Appropriate Atmosphere For All Pilgrims

BAGHDAD / Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi affirmed that the Iraqi government is determined to provide a safe and appropriate atmosphere for all visitors. A statement from his office said that Al-Ghanimi received a phone call from his Pakistani counterpart, Rana Sanaullah Khan, during which they discussed the process of grouping pilgrims from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the holy city of Karbala, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. Al-Ghanimi stressed that the ministries, institutions and departments of the Iraqi state are fully mobilized to provide the best services to pilgrims from inside and outside the country who intend to perform the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, noting that there is great cooperation between the competent authorities and pilgrims to make this occasion successful, indicating that the Iraqi government is determined to provide a safe and appropriate atmosphere for all pilgrims, including pilgrims of the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with which we have strong and close historical relations.
