NIHR organizes an international conference on Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law

Manama, Sept. 19 (BNA): National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)'s President Ali Ahmed Al Derazi said that NIHR will organize an international conference "Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law: A Qualitative Experience in Criminal Legislation", with local, regional and international participation from the human rights sector. Al Derazi said that the two-day conference will be held at the end of September, he added. The first day will feature two sessions that will discuss the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law and the efforts of the various authorities and the role of national human rights institutions in following up the implementation of the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law. The second day sessions will discuss the challenges facing the authorities overseeing the implementation of the law, the visions of civil society institutions in the application of Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law, and the most important challenges in implementing them. He added that the last session will include an open public discussion and proposals as well as the conference's recommendations.
