TOKYO, June 4 Kyodo -
A Chinese man wanted for allegedly abducting three children in China was
arrested Thursday in Japan on suspicion of violating the immigration law,
police said.
Chinese police have been looking for He Guangqiang, 39, who is suspected of
being involved in the kidnappings from 2005 to 2007, and made a request to
Japan in April through Interpol to arrest and deport him, according to the
Metropolitan Police Department.
The Japanese investigative authority is expected to hand him over to the Tokyo
immigration bureau at an early time for the procedure, the police said.
He, an office worker living in Tokyo, was arrested on suspicion of illegally
entering Japan in June 2007, using a passport under the name of his
acquaintance and staying in Japan since.
