Government gives priority to environmental management

(KPL) On World Environment Day, which falls on 5 June, Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphanvanh, said that work related to the environment is important and the government is concerned about climate change and development of a policy on environmental management.
The Prime Minister also said that the government and the Lao people are now implementing a project to manage the forest in the country.
The government, he added will implement various laws, especially the law on the environment and in connection with this, to cooperate with friendly countries and international organizations.
The government is promoting a clean environment, it is supporting a low carbon emission policy and sustainable utilization of its water and forest resources, said the Prime Minister.
On 2009’s World Environment Day, the Prime Minister urged the Party-State organizations, the local authorities and the businessmen of Laos and other countries to preserve the environment.
He also urged everyone to contribute to conservation, to rehabilitate the forest and to feel that they are owners and so clean the environment by getting rid of the waste water, garbage and plastic bags.
