Bahrain-Israel agreement aims at creating sustainable peace, regional security

By Nayla Barakat Manama, Nov. 12 (BNA): The signing of an agreement between Bahrain and Israel do not change the Kingdom’s stance on an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem. This was stated by Undersecretary for Political Affairs Shaikh Dr Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa at a press conference at Bahrain Elections Media Centre. Bahrain is looking at a sustainable solution for this conflict, he added. The agreement with Israel is a way forward for building bridges between Israel and its Arab neighbours and it does not change Bahrain's stance or support of its brothers. Responding to a question about Bahrain and the UAE efforts to help end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, he said that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HE Shaikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, the President of the UAE, are two towering personalities in the region, and they will continue to help for rapprochement between Russia and Ukraine. “Russia and Ukraine have accepted the agreement and both the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the UAE will remain committed to achieve peace between and security.” Shaikh Abdullah emphasized that as a principle, Bahrain adheres to non-interference to the internal affairs of other countries. Bahrain will remain committed to respecting the sovereignty of every country as well as to non-interference in others’ internal affairs, he said.
