Bahrani women play pivotal role in Kingdom’s development

(BNA): Bahrain has witnessed many strides in political, economic, and social sectors and the role of women remains a hallmark of this development journey, Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. “As a Bahraini citizen I am overwhelmed to see the development of our electoral process over the years and how the legislative branch is today playing a very important role in the Kingdom’s democratic march and legislature’s important role,” he told Bahrain News Agency on the sidelines of a press conference at Bahrain Parliamentary and Municipal Elections Media Centre, “We see through a recent poll by Derasat how the awareness of the public is increasing with regards to the importance of the role that the parliament plays and the increasing number of participants that we are hoping that would show up to date for the elections,” Dr Shaikh Abdullah said. “Women have always been an integral part of the development process in Bahrain as they played a pivotal role by working side by side with men in all spheres of life, and we are very glad to see an increasing number of women who have run for office today.” Dr Shaikh Abdullah said that along with the increasing number of voters from the youth as well, these are all positive indicators that give confidence to the public about the importance of their participation in the parliamentary and municipal elections.
