Qatar 2022/ Es'hailSat Provides Safe Broadcasting of Tournament, Launches Development Projects Soon

Doha, December 14 (QNA) - Qatar Satellite Company (Es'hailSat), provided a safe and continuous broadcast of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, since its launch on Nov. 20, 2022 until now.
Commenting on the company's operations throughout the tournament, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Qatar Satellite Company (Es'hailSat) Ahmed bin Ali Al Kuwari, said in an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the company worked to provide various services to all strategic customers and partners via its two satellites Es'hail-1 and Es'hail-2 at 25.5 / 26 East, in addition to the services of the earth station in the State of Qatar. It succeeded in enhancing the capabilities of the news gathering service via satellite, after it provided the basic and necessary requirements for transmitting the tournament to all parts of the world, with high quality.
On the mechanism for continuity of broadcasting without interruption or interference, in light of the increasing demand for Internet content and data distribution, Al Kuwari pointed out that Es'hailSat has enhanced the communication service via optical fiber, to ensure smooth broadcasting of matches, away from external influences, especially since the main objective is to provide an integrated vital infrastructure, and to provide a comprehensive service with high quality, supported by secure and reliable communication, through fixed terrestrial networks, and mobile units by land, sea and air.
He added that the championship embodied an ideal opportunity to test the capabilities and abilities. It also strengthened Es'hailSat's contribution to stimulating the country's development process and supporting the national economy, and at the same time shows the State of Qatar's commitment to providing secure and independent communications for all.
During his speech, the CEO of the company revealed a plan to launch a package of long-term development projects that would achieve the vision of Es'hailSat to become a global operator and provider of satellite services.
He pointed out that these projects are in their final stages, and details will be announced soon, as it is expected that it will contribute to the success of Qatar National Vision 2030, especially since it was designed to keep pace with this national vision and its aspirations to transfer the local economy from oil to knowledge and digital, as sustainability is not just agricultural sufficiency, so we're continuing to invest in education, so we can develop and distill our technology.
In response to a question about the expansion plan, Al Kuwari affirmed the company's intention to double the broadcasting area, in addition to other accompanying projects with the aim of strengthening the Qatari space presence and supporting its competitiveness, expanding the network, and upgrading broadcasting to ensure maximum and full benefit from the satellites.
Commenting on Es'hailSat's orientations to establish a global company and launch further satellites,CEO of Es'hailSat Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari said that the company is closely studying and evaluating all possible options to enhance its future capabilities, where the plan entails the promotion of service constantly through working at various levels to achieve the vision and add a new dimension to the national economy.
He pointed out that Es'hailSat has multiple partnerships with BridgeComm for the optical ground station and terminal antenna, along with the service providers such as IDirect seriel and Cobham to sustain the services and provide a global broadband communication in a time such industry is witnessing global fluctuations.
Al Kuwari stated that the expansive plan for the company keeps pace with the growing demand from the Middle East and North Africa for data service, including the TV broadcasting, indicating that the company will fulfil that demand in the future more accurately.
He added that Es'hailSat is periodically assessing the satellite and services to be compared with the new satellites in low earth orbit, to ensure compatibility for future applications, such as Mobility and IoT, pointing out that the company is open to all professional companies to offer the best solutions for the concerned parties at the region's level.
Regarding the facilitations and the investment opportunities, CEO of Es'hailSat underlined that the Middle East region and North Africa enjoy huge potential qualifying them to expand their scope of communications and overcome the geographical hurdles in conjunction with the optical fibers approaching the African shores, which helps deliver these services to remote areas, and to not limit them to the major cities only.
Al Kuwari added that the service providers strive to reduce the communications expenditures in the remote areas, stressing that the current opportunities entail the provision of mobile communications and link the cell phones with 4G and 5G network, while in terms of data, the satellites are working to reduce their costs in those areas, he said, and contribute to filling the digital vacuum, and ensure that they are provided to all entities.
On the intense competition in the field of satellite broadcasting, Al Kuwari pointed out that Es'hailSat has succeeded in combating the jamming in its satellites, and provided an additional technical support for them giving them the priority among the other operators and making them the appropriate option in fulfilling the communications of all companies in the region, noting the importance of the location of the State of Qatar in providing these services, which allow secure communications, confirming the capability of Es'hailSat to proceed with providing them to all clients, adding that the startups' innovations help lead the growth of the sector and support the development processes.
Concluding his remarks, Al Kuwari said that the only way to preserve the reputation of Es'hailSat entails the constant innovation and growth, whether in terms of it is self- innovation or through fostering strategic partnerships. (QNA)
