Dr. Mohammed Haj Hassan, a urologist, stated in a statement to SANA that when a child reviews the hospital’s urinary clinic, the ECCO procedure and a silhouette image of the urinary system show an expansion of the left kidney and the pelvis, and a stenosis in the upper part of the ureter which is called left ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) stenosis and that entailed a surgical intervention.
Dr. Haj Hassan added that performing the surgery on the girl, and the ureterovesical Junction was reconstructed using the “Hans Anderson” method, which is a method suitable for pediatric urologic surgeries.
According to Haj Hassan, that the child is currently in good health and is recovering, and it has been confirmed that the kidney function has not been affected, and urine drainage has been checked and she will return to her normal life within two weeks.
