Qatar Amateur Radio Society Participates In International Amateur Radio Exhibition In Germany

Doha, June 25 (QNA) - Qatar Amateur Radio Society (QARS) took part in the international amateur radio exhibition (Friedrichshafen 2023) in Germany. The QARS pavilion during the three-day exhibition saw a great turnout to learn about the specifications of Qatari satellite (Es’hail-2) which was launched in 2018 and carries the first amateur radio transponders to be put into geostationary orbit. The QARS made a presentation during the exhibition recorded the largest audience among the other presentations made by the amateur radio societies and clubs participating in the exhibition. HE Chairman of Qatar Amateur Radio Society Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah expressed his happiness at the participation in Friedrichshafen 2023 after successful previous participations by the society, noting the great importance of participation in such international forums. He explained that QARS establishes a pavilion to introduce the most important achievements made by the State of Qatar in this field, as well as the most important achievements of QARS. He added that the exhibition is also an opportunity for Qatari amateurs to gain international experience and exchange information with international experts in this hobby, and to learn about the most important modern technology in the field of devices and equipment. Friedrichshafen is considered one of the largest amateur radio exhibitions in the world. The exhibition attracts a large number of exhibitors and visitors, and hosts various manufacturers of devices and equipment for radio enthusiasts, along with a number of international and regional organizations and bodies interested in the hobby. Qatar Amateur Radio Society (QARA) was founded in 1991 with the aim of promoting Amateur Radio in the country and organizing its practice in accordance with the laws in force locally and internationally.
