Moscow Stock Exchange to open branch in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, June 18 (Itar-Tass) - Russian business people intend to open
a branch of the Moscow Stock Exchange (MFB) in Kyrgyzstan, head of
management of the Sistema joint-stock financial corporation Alexander
Rudakov stated in the Kyrgyz capital on Thursday.
Bishkek is currently playing host to the Russia-Kyrgyz economic forum
"New Milestones of Cooperation."
"At present, we're working on creating our branch in Kyrgyzstan," he
said.
In his opinion, Russian entrepreneurs show a considerable interest in
this Central Asian republic, because the development of cooperation with
it will provide an opportunity to boost activity within the MFB framework
in the "commodity market section."
In particular, this includes fuels, chemicals, construction materials,
food and minerals.
Senior vice-president of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Boris Pastukhov said Russian and Kyrgyz partners now have many promising
fields for mutually advantageous cooperation, for example in the
developing high technology productions.
This cooperation is particularly pressing in the conditions of the
world economic crisis, when Russian companies increasingly often buy parts
and materials for production not from the West, but in former Soviet
republics.
"Regrettably, Kyrgyzstan and Russia's business circles do not know
each other's potential opportunities well at present," Pastukhov said.
On Thursday, the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a
cooperation agreement with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of
Russia's Saratov and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
Chief of Kyrgyz government staff Nurlan Atimurzayev offered Russian
entrepreneurs to participate in building cargo terminals in the republic.
