Azerbaijan eager to tie up with Japan in new energy field

TOKYO, June 18 Kyodo -
Azerbaijan is eager to promote cooperation with Japanese companies in the field
of new energy in addition to conventional joint projects of exploiting oil and
natural gas in the Caspian Sea, visiting Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar
Mammadyarov said Thursday.
Japanese companies' advanced know-how and technologies are important to carry
out joint work in the new fields such as solar heating systems and water supply
systems, Mammadyarov said without specifying possible projects.
Mammadyarov made the comments in a lecture meeting held in Tokyo organized by
the Japan Institute of International Affairs.
